Freedom

Worried about confinement? Freedom's closer than you think.

Next month typically sees a large number of multigenerational gatherings as part of the holiday season. For those who tend to fret about the unknown, please refer to December 2018's newsletter which explains the benefits of embracing 'not knowing'.

For the rest of us, who are happy to tackle our immediate future as it unfolds, there is still the immediate burden of restriction and the weight of the consequences of our mingling.

What ameliorates these mental burdens is freedom.

The freedom we find when we walk under the sky, even in the rain, even in the streets of our dirty old towns and the freedom we find inside.

These two distinctly different actions share a curiously stilling effect.

If you walk in the countryside you have the undeniable peacefulness of nature, but if you walk in the city you have the coincidence of humanity and the peace that this unspoken sharing brings; we are all in this together.

And when you sit, the sensation of 'aliveness' of 'being' of 'existing in the moment' is endlessly stilling, peaceful and calm.

So, if you're worried about something, if you're fatigued with the status quo, then every day, without fail: walk and sit.

Walk and sit.
